Birmingham’s Local Hot Spots
Maybe you live here or maybe you are visiting for the weekend! I am working on a checklist for the best local “hot spots” in and around Birmingham, Alabama. So please vote to share your thoughts! Are you a member of Mountain Brook Trading and What’s Happening in Mountain Brook, then please share this.

Going out for a Night on the Town?
When we go out on a date night, out with the kids or have friends in town, we don’t want to stress out about thinking of fun, cool places to go. We go to our personal favorites or highly recommended places. We have so many wonderful options to choose from in this town, but being a wife and mom of three, I honestly do not always remember all of the hot spots. In addition to the choices we have in Mountain Brook, there are so many awesome options in the Birmingham and Over the Mountain area all within 5-10 minutes.
Get out of your usual places?
Growing up and living in Mountain Brook, Alabama has been a wonderful experience. I met my husband here and we are raising our children here because we love the family friendly environment. Mountain Brook has multiple unique villages. Each with swanky shops, delicious restaurants, fabulous art galleries, amazing homes, top schools, fun events, great trails and family parks. In fact, since we were kids we used to joke about Mountain Brook being a tiny kingdom. Well the nickname “The Tiny Kingdom” stuck. Being only minutes from Birmingham, Homewood and Vestavia, some say we are in the perfect location.
Let’s Make a List of our Favorites Together
When my husband and I moved back home after living out west in Park City, UT we created a checklist of our old favorite go-to spots and new places we wanted to try or places that we read about.
My goal is to create a quick reference spot to get a glimpse of the locally owned hot spots in and around BIRMINGHAM, a guide of stuff to do and to get a feel and understanding of our village lifestyle.
Hot Spot Idea
Right now, the recommended “hot spots” are based on my personal experiences.
I would love to eventually have readers nominate the “Hot Spots” for dining, shopping and activities. Some of the ideas are “Hot Spots for a Ladies Lunch” or the “Hottest Parks to take your Kids”. Ultimately, our local businesses depend on us. They need and want the support of the community.
Being in the deep South, visitors are never quite sure of what to expect when they get down here. After all we have Southern Belles, Southern Attitude, Sophisticated Style and frankly just a Beautiful Town. However, once our out-of-towners get introduced to our way of life (and sweet tea) they love it. I hope that you enjoy Mountain Brook and Birmingham as much as my family has.
